The Climb

Grand Teton is the highest peak in the Teton Range, with a summit of 13,770 feet. Located in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, the Grand Teton is a complex and challenging mountain.  Most climbing takes place mid-June through early September when snow levels have diminished.  The Pownall-Gilkey route is a variation on the Owen-Spalding route that requires technical rock climbing to ascend.

Travel

Climbers should plan to arrange their own transportation to and from the mountain. Bay Area Wilderness Training will assist in organizing carpools to and from the airport. Additional information will be available in the Climber Orientation Packet and at the pre-trip meeting.

Lodging

There are plenty of hotels, and motels in Jackson near the meeting point. Camping is also available at Curtis Canyon and other locations close by.
